Very often when it comes to health, fitness and well-being, we confuse aesthetics (outer beauty) factors as urgent and forget the important underlying factors e.g. strong back, no injuries, low stress, low cholesterol etc etc. These underlying factors have to be addressed first in order to achieve this outer physical goal.

URGENCY and importance gets confused 99% of the time due to the modern world we live in. Suddenly doing a crazy 2 hour leg session to help loose 5kilos, becomes MORE urgent than improving ones flexibility WHICH is needed to relieve body pain and back ache in order to train better and more effectively.... in order to loose those 5 kilos .....see where this is going?
You know how often I have heard the line "I know that is important but as soon as I have dropped a dress size i'll do it"??? Really??? You will do it once that is achieved??? WRONG, it won't ever be achieved because the urgent is being confused with the important!
This is especially vital when addressing good health & well-being. Unhealthy and unrealistic fad diets and lifestyle habits are kept up in the hopes that it will help achieve the urgent (loosing weight or dropping a pants size). Sadly the important things (lower cholesterol, healthy liver, no diabetes, no heart disease), gets pushed aside as secondary elements thanks to our obsessive culture around what our bodies look like verses what they should feel like and how they should function.

Little do we know that what most consider as"important 2nds" should be urgent 1sts because it's only once THESE factors get addressed and sorted will the body change to permanent, vibrant health and happiness and longevity can be achieved.
Take some time out to address your URGENT verses IMPORTANT factors and see if there are some that have been mixed up. This could be a game changer for you and could boost your performance and goal speed 10 fold!
Flexibility and stretching are 2 of those urgent elements that gets placed as important 2nds WAY too often.....mainly because people don't know what to do, where to start, it can be uncomfortable and many times feels "useless" because it is not that high intensity they are use too. HOWEVER if they only knew that flexibility improves muscle recovery, reduces risk of injury, helps heal injury (if done correctly), tones and firms the muscles AND elongates and lengthens out the body!!! These are HUGE bonus points when going for performance and good aesthetics!!!
Only once I started to apply stretching and flexibility work consistently in my training routine, did I start to feel and SEE the benefits and once that happened I never looked back!!!
