My TOP Vegan recovery meal....that is stronger than anything else!!!

I am a person who likes to chew. I never been one of those peeps who could drink most of their meals and feel satisfied. Honestly, chewing amazing textures in my mouth is part of the pleasure of eating for me.

Having said that, I do however enjoy a very well made, creamy, dreamy, thick smoothie and my current favourite breakfast is just that. Not only does it taste amazing but it is so easy to make AND is jam packed with huge nutrition which makes it the PERFECT recovery meal.

Went for a beautiful 20km hike this morning in the mountains. It was just so energizing and invigorating and it reminded me how important it is to feed your body with energizing and invigorating foods that will heal and transform your body and health into the best version it can be!

The amount of amazing nutrition packed in this super smoothie is incredible. For instance, just 1 serving of 3g or spirulina contains:

  • 60% protein, An excellent source of vitamins A, K1, K2, B12 and iron, manganese and chromium

  • A rich source of health-giving phytonutrients such as carotenoids, GLA, SOD and phycocyanin.

  • 2800% more beta-carotene than carrots

  • 3900% more iron than spinach

  • x1 small pineapple (....yes, the whole thing)

  • x1 frozen banana

  • 2 Tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 1 heaped tsp spirulina powder (hence the beautiful vibrant green colour)

  • ....and a dash of GMO free soy milk

Whiz this all together and "tadaaaa", it's done!
